Apparently using laptop webcams to spy on students isn’t an isolated problem . An assistant principle in the Bronx recently not only bragged about doing just that to PBS—he demonstrated it live.

Futuristic ships that look more spaceship than boat fascinate me. However, I can’t deny that, if I had to get a yacht over a sailboat, I would go for this amazing tug boat , completely remodeled inside and out. The original tug boat went to sea in 1967.

If you haven’t got nearly enough of the cameras coming out of the PMA show this week, you couldn’t go wrong with the 26x optical zoomer X90 from Pentax, which takes last year’s X70 and ups the zoom-factor. It’s still got a 12.1-megapixel sensor, but going back to that zoom lens it now spans a 26mm wide angle to 676mm super telephoto.

Well, if you’re sent by Getty Images , the standard issue kit contains: two Nikon D3ses, 24-70mm lens, 400mm lens, 500/600mm lens, 1.4x teleconverter, batteries and memory cards. And you get to haul all that up a mountain! Basically, all of this stuff, plus two of those giant cameras up there. An Apple patent application has surfaced that tackles improved video and photo performance on handheld devices includes a very clear depiction of a front-facing camera . Did someone say iPad Chatroulette? The patent, with the decidedly unsexy title of “Apparatus and Method for Compensating for Variations in Digital Cameras,” outlines ways in which they company could account for variations in the lens manufacturing process. Since camera components are manufactured separately and then incorporated into their host devices, there’s a broad range of lens thickness, color response, and so on

Windows Phone 7 is only three days old, but leaked documents from Microsoft supposedly showing developer requirements have turned up thanks to XDA-Developers , suggesting WP7 will use both Silverlight and XNA—which makes sense, given the Xbox 360 integration . It also means it’s quite likely that WP7 will actually allow you to play Xbox 360 games—if not existing titles, then new ones.
