Motorola and Verizon have both promised OTA updates, but it’s anyone’s guess as to when they’ll be out—so this may just be the fastest way to get the latest Android flavor on your pocket-friend.

It may not be the $1m that Tapulous brings in each month for its Tap Tap Revenge series of iPhone apps , but independent developer Edward Kim is understandably pleased with his $13,000/month from the Car Locator Android app . He’s seen 70,000 downloads of the free app, but 6,950 of the paid-for version. Kim originally priced it at $1.99 per download, but increased it to $3.99—with the number of downloads unaffected by the price hike.

A new jail opens in Norway on the 1st of April, which is incredibly modern with Banksy-style street art everywhere, natural lighting courtesy of Philips , and even a music studio. It looks nicer than some people’s houses, needless to say. It’ll contain 252 inmates when it opens next month, and will be the second-largest prison in Norway—situated near the Swedish border on 300 acres of land.

Seen sporting a Cyon badge (LG’s Korean phone brand), the LG Maxx LG9400 is powered by Snapdragon and the dashed dreams of anyone hoping it’d be an Android handset instead of another disappointing S-Class phone. That Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm is actually the QSD8650 model, a little faster than the QSD8250 one that’s used in most of the Snapdragon phones on the market today. The display is a 3.5-inch WVGA job, with an optical trackpad, GPS, Wi-Fi, 5.0-megapixel camera (capable of shooting HD video), DivX and T-DMB mobile TV support.

Apparently when a Navy SEAL takes a minisubmarine to a combat zone, his ride is an open system, meaning they literally spend hours with their bodies exposed to the water. Sounds terrible! Fortunately, they just got an upgrade. The Navy has been trying to get the SEALs into a new Swimmer Delivery Vehicle (SDV) for some time, but until now they’ve been stuck with the waterlogged Mark 8 SDVs that have been around since the 70s.
