Days after The Great Purge of all apps considered sexy (unless you happened to be a major publisher ), developers have spotted a new category for submitting apps to the App Store : Explicit. The new category hasn’t shown up in the App Store yet, but what it potentially means is obvious: A place for explicit applications to live. We’ve been waiting for such a place since the App Store opened, actually getting excited when Parental Controls made their way into iPhone 3.0, hoping it would release a pent-up flood of apps like the long-lost South Park app, or Playboy for those so-inclined. An explicit category suggests that it could finally happen.

Windows Phone 7 is only three days old, but leaked documents from Microsoft supposedly showing developer requirements have turned up thanks to XDA-Developers , suggesting WP7 will use both Silverlight and XNA—which makes sense, given the Xbox 360 integration . It also means it’s quite likely that WP7 will actually allow you to play Xbox 360 games—if not existing titles, then new ones.

Palm’s Mojo devkit has leaked to the web ahead of schedule—they had announced it would arrive in late summer, and instead developers are treated to the SDK right now. Mojo is of the utmost importance to Palm: Without a huge and vibrant developer scene churning out tons of apps, the Pre might not excel as a platform enough to challenge the iPhone

Snow Leopard Update Comes Via Software Update, Adds Dock Expose [Snow Leopard]
by Chemmyone on Jun.26, 2009, under Home Automation, Snow leopard, Snow leopard update, Uncategorized, apple, software update
The new developer’s Snow Leopard build, build 10A394, is interesting in that you don’t have to reinstall your entire OS to get it—you can just grab it via Software Update . Dock Expose finally shows up as well. The OS is pretty stable for everyday use (minus plugins and some apps that don’t quite work), so if you’re adventurous and don’t mind having incompatibilities for some stuff, you can probably find this online somewhere
