According to Jonathan Schwartz —then Sun’s CEO—that’s what Steve Jobs told him over the phone after Sun presented Looking Glass , a desktop concept similar to Mac OS X’s. After that, Schwartz verbally cockpunched His Steveness and shut him up: “Steve, I was just watching your last presentation, and Keynote looks identical to Concurrence – do you own that IP?” Concurrence was a presentation product built by Lighthouse Design, a company I’d help to found and which Sun acquired in 1996.

According to Jonathan Schwartz —then Sun’s CEO—that’s what Steve Jobs told him over the phone after Sun presented Looking Glass , a desktop concept similar to Mac OS X’s. After that, Schwartz put Steve in his place: “Steve, I was just watching your last presentation, and Keynote looks identical to Concurrence – do you own that IP?” Concurrence was a presentation product built by Lighthouse Design, a company I’d help to found and which Sun acquired in 1996. Lighthouse built applications for NeXTSTEP, the Unix based operating system whose core would become the foundation for all Mac products after Apple acquired NeXT in 1996

Waking up to fresh photos of an unofficial phone is always welcome, but I do wish all these spyshots of the HTC Incredible would be accompanied with a bit of meat. Some bacon for my breakfast, you could say. It’s already shown up in Verizon Wireless’ inventory system , and we’ve heard a few details on the inner workings of the handset —but as to when it’s expected to go on sale, why don’t you tell me, eh punk? Adidas miCoach Pacer Review: Like Nike+, Only Better [Review]

Adidas miCoach is a fitness activity tracking system similar to Nike+, except it gives you more data—including heart rate information—and has a sexy voice to guide you through workouts. Yes, it costs more, but it also does more. The Price $140 may sound like quite a bit to spend on a fitness activity tracking system, but you are getting everything you need to get started with a running program: A stride sensor A heart rate monitor An online workout manager Enough data and charts to satisfy even the geekiest runners So Many Pieces! I’ve used Nike+ in the past and I recall opening up a box to find nothing but a stride sensor and some instructions, but with miCoach there was a small pile of straps, gadgets, and cables to deal with. This might almost be sufficient to scare off new users, but the whole system fits together easily

Google’s mobile web interface for Buzz is technically impressive, in that it behaves more or less like a native app. Cool, guys! But in use, it’s just too slow . Buzzie, the first native Buzz iPhone app, helps pick up Google’s slack

After it was pulled in December due to some bugs, Layar is back in the App Store, available for iPhone 3GS users. Just in case you need a run-through, Layar—which is also available on Android—is an augmented reality app which lets you discover people and places around you, based on different layers you select. It’s only available for the 3GS as it needs a compass to work, and also uses the camera function to display your surroundings on a cool grid.

ThinkFlood has just killed the first RedEye product which went on sale in December for $188, with the massively-superseding RedEye Mini . It costs only $49 and plugs into the iPhone’s 3.5mm jack instead of via a clunky plastic dock. It’s by no means the first universal remote control peripheral for the iPhone, with L5 plugging into the dock connector, and Fastmac and Power A providing the IR transmitter in a case
