Amazon? Not playing around with publishers when it comes to ebook deals. Penguin’s contract ran out on April 1, so Amazon can’t sell their ebooks.

So, Who’s Going To Be One Of The Million To Buy An LG 3DTV This Year? [3D Tv]

With rather lofty ambitions, LG has said it hopes to sell 1 million 3DTVs this year, securing it 25 per cent of the market. The LX9500 model was announced yesterday as going on sale May, when it could cost $4,000 if it’s anywhere near a direct conversion from the Korean price. (Though a retailer has contacted me saying it’s already in their system as $3,599.99.) More

Several people are reporting that there are odd charges on credit cards they’ve used to make purchases from online retailer Monoprice. This is what the company had to say: A few of our customers recently reported to us that information from credit cards they used on the Monoprice website had been misused. We promptly began an investigation with the help of expert computer forensic investigators to determine if any card data had been stolen from our computers. To date, the investigators have found no evidence that card information has been stolen from Monoprice’s computer network

Maingear Managed to Shove a Full Numeric Keypad Onto Its 15-Inch mX-L 15 Laptop [Laptops]

For whatever reason, Maingear decided that they should stick a full numeric keypad onto a 15-inch laptop. And using whatever magic, they managed to pull it off without creating a monster. I’ve got a 12-inch, a 15-inch, and a 17-inch laptop within an arms reach, yet none of them—not even the 17-incher—have a full number pad. This makes Maingear’s mX-L 15 feel like the odd man out, but boy could it be useful for quicker data entry

Macmillan’s Future Of Textbooks Looks a Lot Like Wikipedia [Ebooks]

by Chemmyone on Feb.23, 2010, under 3D, Ads, Ai, Art, Ati, Books, Concept, Content, Display, Ds, DynamicBooks, Ebook, Ebooks, Eu, Ge, Hd, Home Automation, ISO, Intern, Ion, Iphone, Isp, Led, Mac, Macmillan dynamicbooks, Mic, News, Nyt, Os, Ovi, Parts, Pr, Printing, Pro, Rc, Real, Research, Rf, Style, TI, Tent, Textbooks, Top, Tron, Ui, Up, War, Wikipedia, Zune, book, clear, dash, fashion, flo, internet, ipad, macmillan, media, phone, pre, price, sage, search, star, step, ted, time, what

Textbook publisher Macmillan is hip the ways of the internet, see! They’re rolling out a new product/concept/news item called DynamicBooks , which lets instructors change the content of online textbooks, even if they didn’t write them. And why not? The practicality of the DynamicBooks concept will almost immediately be overshadowed by kneejerk criticism, so let’s just get that out of the way now: Yes, the editing method resembles Wikipedia, and yes, a professor could conceivably replace a passage that conflicts with his research, partially out of genuine belief but more out of spite against the guy who got his work published in A Comparative Gender Theorist’s Guide to Infant Osteopathy instead of said professor, but that’s not what DynamicBooks is for, or what it will be used for.
